    Free Paper Shredding & Book Recycling Event

    Sponsored by the City of Albany's Department of General Services

    Washington Park
    Madison Avenue Entrance
    May 24, 2012 4pm - 7pm

    Bring your documents that need shredding and they will be shredded on site.
    This event is for personal papers and documents, no commercial please.
    Additionally we will be collecting Hard & Soft Cover Books to be Recycled.
    -Books will not be shredded-

  2. City of Albany Household Hazardous Waste & Electronics Event

    The hazardous waste & electronic recycling drop-off days will run from 4pm to 7pm and will take place at the City of Albany Rapp Road Landfill. 


    Residents must pre-register by calling (518) 434-2489 or to register online click here


    Only residents of the City of Albany are eligible to participate. However, small businesses that generate less than 32 gallons a month of hazardous waste may also take advantage of this opportunity, but will be charged a small fee.


    Everyone must pre-register to be admitted.

    At no time should hazardous waste be placed curbside. Any questions regarding the Household Hazardous Waste & Electronic program please call the Department of General Services at 434-2489 or visit www.albanyrecycles.com

    Parking Lot by the Pool Complex

    The Town of Bethlehem Sanitation/Recycling and Senior Services Departments
    are pleased to offer the Town’s second annual Pharmaceutical Collection event!
    This event is co-sponsored by Bethlehem Senior Projects, Inc. and Four Corners Pharmacy in Delmar. 

    The program is anonymous, and accepted items include prescription and over the counter
    medications in pill, powder and liquid form. Please leave medications in their original containers and place in a bag or box.

    You may black out personal information with a permanent marker; though all
    medications will be kept secure in the custody of a Town of Bethlehem police officer, and disposed of by incineration at a waste-to-energy facility under the officer's supervision.
